Psychedelic Assisted Therapy

I am partnered with Field Trip Health to provide Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP). Ketamine-assisted therapy combines the administration of ketamine, a dissociative anesthetic, with psychotherapy to address various mental health conditions. This approach leverages the psychoactive properties of ketamine to facilitate therapeutic breakthroughs in patients. Studies demonstrate KAP can be effective in treating treatment-resistant depression, PTSD and OCD as well as other concerns.

How it works

Preparation

  • Initial Assessment: treatment will start with an evaluation to determine suitability for ketamine therapy. This includes a medical consultation with a nurse practitioner.

  • Setting Expectations: we would discuss the potential effects of ketamine, the therapy process, and set therapeutic goals and intentions for the treatment process.

    Administration

  • Set and Setting: the administration of medicine would happen at the beautiful Field Trip Health office location. The therapy is conducted in a controlled, safe, and comfortable setting to facilitate relaxation and introspection. The medicine would be administered by the nurse practitioner and the therapist would be present throughout the 2-hour session.

  • Dosage and Delivery: ketamine can be administered orally or through intramuscular (IM) injection. The dosage and method of delivery are tailored to the individual client.

    Therapeutic Session

  • Experience: Under the influence of ketamine, you may experience altered states of consciousness, dissociation, and enhanced emotional openness. This state can help you access and process difficult emotions and memories more effectively.

  • Guided Therapy: I will be present without through your experience, helping you navigate thoughts and feelings and integrate insights gained during the session.

    Integration

  • Post-Session Processing: After the ketamine session, the remainder of the time will be dedicated to integration to help make sense of psychedelic experiences. This is an opportunity to discuss your experiences and insights with your therapist. This helps solidify the therapeutic gains and apply them to everyday life.
